PhoenixMart, a 1.7 million square-foot permanent, multi-category manufacturer product sourcing center set to break ground soon in Casa Grande, Ariz., announced  the promotion of Jeremy Schoenfelder to president.  Steve Betts will transition from his role as chief executive officer to become the first member of the newly-created PhoenixMart National Advisory Board.

As PhoenixMart has entered the construction and leasing stage of the project, the company is refocusing and enhancing its leadership team to make certain it has the best people and resources in place to deliver on its promise. The National Advisory Board will include key industry leaders who will provide strategic direction and counsel in their individual areas of expertise.

“I am very pleased to with our progress to date and am especially excited to work with the talented team we have put into place to bring the PhoenixMart vision to reality, ” said Schoenfelder. “The time is right and PhoenixMart is uniquely positioned to help spur U.S. manufacturing, creating jobs in Arizona and in markets across the country.”

Over the past few months, PhoenixMart has met many key milestones. Design of the building is complete; the company has added key personnel and engaged contractors; and construction of what will be an amazing structure is poised to begin.

“PhoenixMart is a gateway to the world for American manufacturers,” said Betts. “It’s a powerful asset in our economic development toolbox for the region and the nation to both increase manufacturing jobs and exports. I’m proud of the leadership team that has been built and excited about my continued involvement as the project moves forward at full speed,” Betts added.

Schoenfelder has served in a PhoenixMart leadership role since the sourcing center’s inception in 2007. He previously served as executive vice president responsible for daily operations. In his new role, he will oversee the strategic development, construction, as well as leasing and sales for PhoenixMart. Betts will continue contribute to the project by providing leadership in his role as part of the five-member PhoenixMart National Advisory Board.

“We are thrilled that Steve is taking on this new role,” added Schoenfelder. “His experience and relationships will continue to be invaluable as we break ground and take the next step in bringing this vision to reality.”

PhoenixMart expects to name additional members to its National Advisory Board in the coming weeks.
