Veteran Valley journalist Steve Burks has been named associate editor at AZ Big Media, with primary responsibility for overseeing AZRE: Arizona Commercial Real Estate and Play Ball magazines.

Burks, a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University, has more than 20 years of writing, editing and design experience in Arizona, working with newspapers in Yuma and in Metro Phoenix.

“I’m thrilled to be able to join a dynamic company that is the market leader in how it covers the commercial real estate industry,” said Burks. “This is a great opportunity for me and I am eager to get out there and tell the stories of the people and projects that shape this industry.”

Pulling together the multiple facets of the commercial real estate industry in Arizona, AZRE: Arizona Commercial Real Estate Magazine reaches out to the largest local and national commercial real estate audience within the Grand Canyon State and beyond. AZRE covers up-to-date happenings within commercial development, brokerage, construction, investment, finance, architecture, property management, real estate law and more as it relates to Arizona. Additionally, AZRE is an active voice within the commercial industry, partnering with such organizations as NAIOP, the Arizona Builders Alliance, ICSC, AAED, Valley Partnership and many others.

“Steve brings a background and skill set that will take AZRE to a new level of depth, insight and analysis,” said AZ Big Media Editor in Chief Michael Gossie. “AZRE is the authoritative voice of the commercial real estate industry in Arizona. Steve will be able to use his talent as a storyteller and his vast experience as an editor to take that voice and bring it to life within the pages of AZRE and our other publications.”
