Fennemore Craig, a leading Mountain West business law firm, announced Scott Altes, a director in the firm’s Phoenix office, has been appointed the new Practice Group Chair of the firm’s Health Care Litigation and Regulation practice group.

Altes has broad litigation and trial experience in complex commercial and tort litigation matters, with an emphasis in medical negligence and professional liability cases. He has represented hospitals, physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers in high-exposure medical negligence and wrongful death matters. In addition, he is the firm’s chief data privacy officer and represents clients on federal and state data privacy requirements, data breach prevention, investigation and response as well as data security policies and training. Altes earned his J.D. from Duke University and his B.A. from the University of Houston.
