The Stevia Tasteful Award recognizes the best-tasting stevia extract in the world. Awarded to SweetLeaf® Organic Stevia by the World Stevia Organization at the recent international Stevia Tasteful 2015 gathering in Berlin, this is a tremendous accolade for the SweetLeaf family. This is the fifth WSO best taste award for Gilbert-based Wisdom Natural Brands® stevia products. SweetLeaf® Liquid Stevia Sweet Drops™ Chocolate and Vanilla Crème, SweetLeaf® Water Drops™ Peach Mango and SweetLeaf® Stevia Extract have all been recognized by the WSO in recent years. The first three products were honored as finished products that use stevia as an ingredient and the latter won in the extract category.
The WSO hosted it’s tasting at the 7th World Convention on Stevia. The large judging panel consisted of tea and coffee tasters, oenologists, gastronomic experts, cooks, food and beverage experts, and Stevia Tasteful attendees. Products were evaluated based on general taste as well as first impression taste, aftertaste, aroma, appearance, and other sensory criteria. Other factors important to consumers were also considered, like clarity of ingredient information, packaging, ease of preparation, and directions for use. After a tally of each factor, the total scores were averaged; the comprehensive evaluations created were used to determine the honors. SweetLeaf Organic Stevia received a score of over 85%, earning the product the additional distinction of a three-leaf ranking, the highest level achievable, on top of the Best Taste Award.
