Today’s spotlight: Amy Patel
Title: Tax partner, Deloitte
Patel’s practice includes multinational businesses, both public and private. She serves clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, technology, cryptocurrency, and alternative energy.
Source of pride: “The opportunity to lead Deloitte’s West Region Tax Inclusion efforts. Our vision is to foster a culture of inclusion where all of our people feel like they belong, and are provided opportunities to grow personally and professionally. I am proud of our efforts to lead and effect change in this area.”
The personality trait that helped you succeed: “Resilience. Throughout my career, when faced with adversity or setbacks, big or small, I have persevered and found a way through them.”
The personality trait that got you into trouble: “Stubbornness. When I set my mind to something I go after it, which means I haven’t always adjusted or bent as quickly as I should have in every situation. I am malleable now; having kids will do that to you!”
Best childhood memory: “I grew up sitting in the end zone at every University of Arizona football game. Some years our team was better than others, but that experience taught me a lot of about winning, losing, loyalty and what it means to be part of a community.”
