Today’s spotlight: Bobbi Magdaleno
Title: Executive director, government and community engagement, ASU
Magdaleno is the executive director in the Office of Government and Community Engagement at Arizona State University. Based at ASU’s West campus, she is responsible for initiatives and activities that create and strengthen relationships connecting the university to the community.
Source of pride: “I am most proud of my 33 years at Arizona State University, first helping to build programs and processes on a new university campus – an opportunity that does not come around in academia too often, and now working to advance ASU in the West Valley.”
The personality trait that helped you succeed: “Dependable – I always do what I say I will do and with integrity. And I am a believer in under promising and over delivering. It has helped me gain the confidence and trust of others.”
The personality trait that got you into trouble: “Spending too much time trying to stay out of trouble. Over the years I have learned to take more risks as that is where I have grown the most.”
Best childhood memory: “My best childhood memories are road trips we would take to family reunions. Cousins from Minnesota, West Virginia, Colorado and North Dakota would meet and enjoy camping during summer vacations in various locations across the United States.”
