Cuningham Group Architecture, Inc. has established a new Phoenix office, expanded its practice areas in the region and added architect, Nabil Abou-Haidar to its Phoenix team. As senior living practice leader, Abou-Haidar is dedicated to the design of senior living communities including independent living, assisted living and memory care, skilled nursing, and hospice care.

Abou-Haidar spent almost 20 years at Orcutt | Winslow where he was a driving force in the establishment and growth of its nationally recognized Senior Living Studio.

Abou-Haidar led the design of the 137,000 SF Tucson Veteran Home, a skilled nursing facility located on eight acres next to the Southern Arizona’s Veterans’ Healthcare Facility and the first to be built in Arizona in 20 years. Targeting LEED Gold Certification, the project consists of a two -story administrative building and four 30,000 SF single storied skilled nursing buildings that each house 30 private rooms. Additionally, his design portfolio includes these well-known Phoenix projects:  the award winning McCarty on Monroe; the pediatric and adult palliative care facility Ryan House; and The Promenade at the Beatitudes, 23-Acre redevelopment of an extended care facility. Nabil also served at AIA Phoenix Metro President in 2008 and was a speaker Leading Age (formerly AAHSA) National Conference in 2007 and at the California Conference in 2012.
