There’s another casualty of the federal government partial shutdown: Arizona’s unemployment numbers.
The state Department of Administration was scheduled to announce the jobless rate for September on Thursday.
But the department’s director of economic analysis says the shutdown in Washington has left her staff without numbers to report.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics didn’t release the monthly Employment Situation Report as scheduled on Oct. 4.
That means the Arizona labor force and industry employment data for September has been delayed until further notice.
Arizona’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 8.3 percent in August. The July seasonally adjusted rate was 8 percent.
