Three of the top four Arizona facilities in today’s U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals regional rankings are owned and operated by Banner Health.

Earning No. 2 and 3 with nationally-recognized rankings for specialty services are Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix and Banner – University Medical Center Tucson. Banner Estrella was ranked No. 4 in the annual listing published in U.S. News.

Mayo Clinic ranked No. 1 in Arizona.

Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix and Banner – University Medical Center Tucson were also recognized nationally for geriatrics and nephrology. Banner Estrella in Phoenix was ranked nationally for pulmonology.

Now in its 27th year, the annual U.S. News Best Hospitals list recognizes hospitals that excel in treating the most challenging patients. The publication showcases more than 720 of the nation’s roughly 5,000 hospitals. Fewer than 150 are nationally ranked in at least one of 16 medical specialties.

Three additional Banner Health hospitals in the Valley, Banner Desert, Banner Boswell and Banner Baywood, have also been named in the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals regional rankings. These state rankings evaluate more than 100 hospitals, and rank those that meet U.S. News standards.
