National healthcare real estate developer NexCore Group has been chosen to develop Banner Health’s newest multispecialty health center.

The three-story, 130,000-square-foot Banner Health Center will be located in the Aspera mixed-use development near the Agua Fria Loop 101 Freeway and 75th Avenue in Glendale.  The Class A facility will be developed on a portion of 17.5 acres owned by Banner Health in the Aspera development.

The Banner Health Center will offer comprehensive clinical services, including family medicine, pediatrics, orthopedics, general surgery, dermatology, gastroenterology, cardiology, endocrinology, internal medicine and OB/GYN, as well as lab, pharmacy and imaging services. The facility is anticipated to break ground in January with a grand opening expected in early 2021.

Todd Varney, chief development officer and managing partner of Denver-based NexCore, said the new facility aligns with the developer’s primary mission of providing high-quality, collaborative healthcare environments through facilities designed to bring efficiency and flow to both patients and healthcare practitioners.

“NexCore is proud to be selected by Banner Health, a premier health system that shares our dedication to providing convenient access to top quality healthcare in the communities we serve, through strategically planned facilities to streamline costs while maximizing value for patients,” Varney said. “The Banner Health Center promises to be a valuable healthcare asset to the growing community of Glendale, bringing a multitude of the most anticipated services to the area surrounding the Aspera development.”

“We’re excited to begin work on our newest Banner Health Center, continuing our long-standing commitment to providing care in the Northwest Valley,” said Scott Nordlund, chief strategy and growth officer for Phoenix-based Banner Health. “This part of the Valley continues to see tremendous growth. Along with that growth comes the need for easy and convenient access to quality primary care and specialist services like those we’ll offer at the new Banner Health Center. We look forward to breaking ground on this project and believe we’ve found an excellent partner in NexCore to help us construct a first-rate facility for this community.”

NexCore’s team has developed, leased and/or owned more than 1 million square feet of healthcare facilities in Arizona and is slated to provide strategic facility and operational planning, design, development, construction, project management and financing for the Banner Health Center project.
