Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), located in Goodyear., today announced that Robert Gould, MBA, FACHE, has been named its President and Chief Executive Officer. Gould most recently served as President of the Arizona West Division of Banner Health and brings decades of health care experience to CTCA.

“Rob has exceptional knowledge of local market health care dynamics, fundamental strategic vision and possesses a profound commitment to improving patient care, putting patients at the forefront of decision-making,” said Raj Garg, MD, JD, CTCA President and CEO. “His talents will further strengthen our leadership team at an exciting time in the organization’s history – a time when we are expanding our patient-centered model of care to serve even more patients in more locations throughout the Valley.”

Gould served as a senior executive in the Banner Health System in Arizona since 2008, most recently as President of the Arizona West Division in which he realized the highest Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) scores of any division in the Banner system in 2015 and 2016. He also achieved the highest employee engagement scores in the system for two consecutive years and directed the operations of multiple centers, including clinic-based operations, consistently meeting and exceeding established productivity metrics. Prior to moving to Arizona he spent 16 years with Fairbanks Memorial Hospital & Denali Center, Fairbanks, Alaska, serving 13 years as CFO and COO.

As President and CEO of CTCA Phoenix, Gould will oversee all hospital administrative and clinical operations as well as the CTCA Outpatient Care Centers opening throughout the Valley.

“CTCA is known for its exceptional clinical care and the compassionate way in which Stakeholders (as their employees and staff are known) take care of patients and their families. It is an incredible honor to join this outstanding team and to be part of the transformative growth CTCA is experiencing – not only in Arizona but in markets throughout the country,” said Gould.

CTCA has expanded its Valley network with the recent opening of two Arizona-based Outpatient Care Centers in North Phoenix and Scottsdale, with a third Valley location also planned this year. Additionally, effective April 1, 2018, CTCA became a contracted provider in Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona’s (BCBSAZ) statewide PPO and HMO networks, giving more patients and employers access to personalized, patient-centered cancer care, with medical experts who focus only on cancer treatment. The North Phoenix and Scottsdale Centers are the second and third Outpatient Care Center locations, respectively, in the CTCA Comprehensive Cancer Care Network; a new Outpatient Care Center opened in downtown Chicago in mid-January.
