Stacey Lihn - HeadshotThe law firm of Gallagher & Kennedy announced today that Stacey L. Lihn has been elected as a public member of the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) Foundation. She will serve a three-year term beginning January 2015.
In her role, Ms. Lihn will serve as the first parent representative for the ABP Foundation, bringing a new and unique perspective to leaders in the field of.
The ABP Foundation supports the mission of the American Board of Pediatrics to ensure excellence in the education of pediatricians and the delivery of pediatric care. The ABP Foundation pursues rigorous research, convenes collaborators in health care, develops and disseminates collective expertise and promotes innovation in order to foster the health and well-being of children and families.
Ms. Lihn has been an effective advocate for cardiac and pediatric health care since 2009, when her daughter was diagnosed in utero with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), a severe congenital heart defect in which the left side of the heart is underdeveloped.
“I am honored to serve as the first parent voice for the ABP Foundation,” said Ms. Lihn. “As primary medical decision makers for our children, we believe that incorporating parents as partners in health care is vital for continued growth and improvement in pediatric medicine.”
In addition to serving on the ABP Foundation, Ms. Lihn also serves as president of Sisters by Heart and is a parent leader for the National Pediatric Cardiology Quality Improvement Collaborative. In 2012, she spoke at the Democratic National Convention about the impact of health care reform on her family.
Ms. Lihn has been a paralegal in Gallagher & Kennedy’s personal injury and wrongful death practice group for 10 years. She earned her B.A. in 1999 from Arizona State University.
