The American Advertising Federation – Phoenix Chapter gathered at the prestigious Fairmont Scottsdale Princess on Friday, March 8 for the annual American Advertising Awards Gala. This glittering event showcased the best and brightest in the advertising industry, with several outstanding professionals and projects receiving Specialty Awards.

The highlight of the evening was the coveted Best of Show award, presented to Off Madison Avenue for their exceptional campaign, “Park Rangers Respond to One Star Reviews,” for the Arizona Office of Tourism. This creative masterpiece not only captivated the audience but also set a high standard for innovation and excellence in advertising. This year’s gala introduced the inaugural Educator of the Year specialty award.

The gala also honored individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and talent in their respective fields:

• J. Terry Groener Memorial Award Ad Person of the Year: Dale Castro, Overlap Interactive

• Creative Professional of the Year: Sara Cody, Anderson Advertising & PR

• Phyllis Ehlinger Women of Excellence Award: Dawn Webbley-Fadda, ON Advertising

• Young Ad Professional of the Year: Hannah Heisler, Heart & Soul Marketing

• Educator of the Year: Sheila Schumacher, Grand Canyon University

Troy Pottgen, President of the AAF Phoenix, expressed his admiration for the winners, saying, “This year’s American Advertising Awards Gala showcased the incredible talent and creativity within our community. Each winner has contributed significantly to the advertising landscape, and we are proud to celebrate their achievements.”

In the spirit of fostering collaboration and community engagement, the AAF Phoenix club encourages individuals to get involved and contribute their time, ideas and expertise to the organization. The board, comprised entirely of volunteers and one part-time employee, thrives on the passion and dedication of its members.
