What it does: General contractor

Workplace culture: To foster and promote employee professional growth, The Willmeng Academy (TWA) was launched by the company to help employees increase their industry knowledge and other marginal skills they may be interested in such as marketing. The TWA program runs for 36 weeks at three hours per week, totaling at least 108 hours per employee. Willmeng has allotted nearly 11,000 hours for the 100 salaried employees that have graduated TWA.

Admirable trait: With 24% of its workforce being women, Willmeng surpasses the national average of only 11% of women employed in the construction industry by more than double, according to the 2022 U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Additionally, 27% of Willmeng’s current employees fall under the category of being international or minority employees.
