Today’s spotlight: Brenda Ferraro

Vice president of third-party risk

Prevalent

Background: Ferraro has a sector agnostic passion to strategically influence corporations to economize third-party programs with a focus on reducing risk across the globe. Ferraro was named one of the Top 25 Women Leaders in Cybersecurity of 2020.

Professional advice: “Women make up 20 percent of the cybersecurity industry with a smaller percentage as leaders. Build a solid network of mentors for support. Continuously learn about your industry to keep up with the changing threat landscape. In the face of adversity focus on being resilient in your area of passion.”

Lesson learned in 2020: “Diverse innovation is key to influencing others. Our new reality and way of working has created a blank slate to define how relationships and business can continue to thrive. Embracing the opportunities in a positive manner helps me to continue to lead with empathy and relevance.”

Surprising fact: “I attempted online dating 10 years ago. After completing the lengthy profile tests, I received a pop-up stating, ‘We are sorry, but you are part of the 10 percent of people we cannot help.’ Nobody can convince me something is impossible, there is always a way.”
