Julie Fletcher, vice president and business banking team lead, Enterprise Bank & Trust

BACKGROUND: Julie Fletcher spent more than 20 years as a business leader and entrepreneur, working with both domestic and international clients to assist with the startup and development of their businesses. She has served on the board of the Arizona Council for International Visitors, The Fabric Foundation and ASBA’s Public Policy Committee.

CAREER PATH INSPIRATION: “My career in banking is motivated by the desire to help facilitate the dreams of others. I am passionate about making a difference and was inspired to create a career path early on that provided this opportunity. As a banker, I am part of a team that, together, makes this difference happen for our clients. It’s personally rewarding to see a client’s dreams become reality, to be their advocate for financial success, and a sounding board when times are tough.”

SOURCE OF PRIDE: “The most valuable accomplishment I have to offer my clients is the many years I spent running my businesses prior to becoming a banker. Business ownership provided me with a deep understanding of the overall needs a business owner has, the many hats they wear, and the frustrations they feel in uncertain times. Walking in the same shoes as my clients in the past has afforded me the ability to see the big picture better, while also appreciating what it takes to be in the trenches as they grow and expand their business to its full potential.”

SOURCE OF INSPIRATION: “The credit goes to a collection of support, not one person — a village, as they say, filled with dynamic people offering words of wisdom in all capacities. From colleagues that championed each other and celebrated wins as a team, to the many customers who challenged me, and the ah-ha moments that tough conversations with managers and mentors have offered. These collectively have opened my eyes to continuous improvement, helped me develop a strong work ethic, and continued to keep me focused.”

SURPRISING FACT: “I started playing the piano at the age of five. I added the clarinet at eight, and started voice lessons at thirteen. I played in the band, sang in the school choir, was a cast member in school and community musicals and competed in vocal competitions through high school.”
