Today’s spotlight: Latasha Causey

Vice president, human resources

Bell Bank

Causey has been an HR leader for decades. She is active in the community, serving on the Teach for America, Valley of the Sun United Way, ASU Alumni Association and Phoenix Workforce Commission boards.

Lesson learned in 2020: “So many lessons learned in 2020 – but nothing more clear than to slow down and check in on non-work related topics. This pandemic has taught us what really matters, and as leaders we need to make sure we respect what that means for our teams. When this is “over,” we still need to take time for those frequent check-ins.”

Source of pride:What gives me the most pride is seeing those I have led, mentored or coached – especially those in the next generation of workers – flourish into the best versions of themselves. All the phone calls, what-if’s and connections have helped them succeed both personally and professionally. Doing my small part in helping them gives me confidence in our future.”

Surprising fact:A few years ago, I created an Instagram account to provide women with fashion inspiration and ideas, plus motivational quotes to help us all keep going and know we are giving the best we can. I didn’t realize it would quickly turn into something that women look forward to – and that I would somehow become an online influencer!”
