Lisa Riley, region bank president, Wells Fargo

BACKGROUND: Lisa Riley is a 35-year financial service veteran, currently managing more than 700 employees and 75 branches. Riley has been nominated for the Athena award recognizing top women in business and was named a Power Broker and Woman of Influence. She also serves on the Valley of the Sun United Way and Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce boards. Riley graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and grew up in Tucson, Arizona. 

CAREER PATH INSPIRATION: “Although I have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, I knew I wanted to work with a company that served customers so banking was the perfect match.”

SOURCE OF PRIDE: “When I see employees that I’ve worked with and developed move into leadership roles that showcase their talents.  One day, I’ll work for a leader who reported to me in the past.”

SOURCE OF INSPIRATION: “A former manager, endorsed and encouraged me to make a career change from always working in support roles in learning and development and human resources, to become a district manager leading branches. Although I had never worked in a branch, he understood the value of ‘transferable skills.’”

SURPRISING FACT: “I am a Star Wars geek and have a collection of various heroes and villains from the ‘original’ movies (IV-VI).”
