IDM Technologies Group, creator of LabTrack specimen tracking technology will bring high-level jobs to the Valley
IDM Technologies Group, manufacturer of the point-to-point specimen tracking product LabTrackTM, will move its company headquarters to the Phoenix area in the first quarter of 2012.
“Relocating to the Phoenix area will strengthen our strategic partnership with Avnet, one of several partnerships that are key to our growth plan for LabTrack,” said Peter Allison, CEO of IDM Technologies Group who founded the company near Seattle four years ago. “This growth will bring new, quality jobs to metropolitan Phoenix, starting with 15 management-level positions that we will hire in 2012.”
Locations in Scottsdale and Chandler are being considered for the corporate office and a distribution facility.
IDM Technologies Group has already established agreements with six local contractors to provide business support ranging from marketing and distribution to accounting. By the end of 2014, management expects to create up to 45 salaried positions in the Valley.
Following its launch in 2007, IDM Technologies Group has been developing, distributing and testing its flagship product, LabTrack, from its current headquarters in Gig Harbor, Wash., near Seattle.
Using radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology, LabTrack tracks and traces lab specimens, blood and tissue samples through every point in the diagnostic lab process.
The technology helps eliminate lost and misplaced lab samples, which helps ensure both patient safety and test reliability. Product testing has also shown that the technology leads to increased productivity among lab personnel and reductions in laboratory operating costs.
The LabTrack point-to-point specimen tracking product is assembled in the United States and will be distributed from facilities in the Phoenix area.
Allison projects that the company will begin a national launch of LabTrack during the first quarter of 2012.
