WaFd Bank announced the promotion of veteran commercial banker Todd Gerber to lead the bank’s growing presence in Arizona following the retirement of long-time Arizona president of WaFd Bank, Mike Brown. Todd joined WaFd Bank just three years ago in 2019 to grow commercial loans and develop the banking team to work closely together to support Arizona businesses and residents.

Mike Brown was the first-ever Arizona regional president in WaFd Bank’s 100-plus year history, a role he has served in since 2014. As President, he oversaw WaFd Bank’s 31 branches across Arizona and more than $1.4 billion in deposits. In 2017, he opened the Bank’s first-ever Arizona regional headquarters in Scottsdale, Ariz. He has been chosen as a top “AZ Business Leader” annually by AZ Big Media since 2014, and under his stead has earned WaFd Bank Arizona the honor of being among Best Companies AZ’s “Most Admired Businesses” in Arizona annually since 2016 and is a multi-year honoree of “Best Bank in Arizona” by Money.com.
Mike helped expand the WaFd Foundation’s grant program into Arizona, helping to provide more than $200,000 in donations to nonprofits in need in recent years.
Todd Gerber was WaFd’s commercial division manager before his promotion.
