On June 23, 2026, A$AP Rocky returned to Phoenix for his first performance in nearly eight years. In typical Rocky fashion, he did not disappoint. He transformed Mortgage Matchup Arena into a high-energy spectacle, delivering a performance that left fans buzzing long after the final song.

AWGE Boys

The night began with six opening acts collectively known as the AWGE Boys. While each performer has an individual career, they came together to set the tone for the evening.

A$AP Lou kicked things off with a DJ set that immediately energized the crowd. The arena erupted as mosh pits formed, fans screamed along to familiar songs, and the “shirtheads” made their presence known. Shirtheads are fans who wrap white T-shirts around their heads and help keep the pits moving while encouraging the crowd’s energy.

A$AP Lou remained behind the turntables as KayCyy, Tommy Revenge, Thoto, A$AP Twelvy and Jordan Patrick each took the stage. One after another, the performers kept the momentum going. For 45 minutes, the crowd stayed fully engaged, with mosh pits continuing throughout the opening performances.

Opening acts rarely command this level of excitement, but the AWGE Boys proved to be an exception. By the time they finished, the arena was more than ready for the night’s main event.

A$AP Rocky

Rocky opened his set with dramatic visuals depicting a helicopter searching the crowd. A moving spotlight mimicked a helicopter’s searchlight, creating the impression that he was being hunted. He then entered through the audience and made his way to the general admission floor, where the show truly came alive.

He opened with the unreleased track “No ID/Grim Freestyle,” performing from the middle of an active mosh pit before continuing with “Trunks” and “Highjack.” The atmosphere featured everything fans expect from an A$AP Rocky concert: sweat, fire, nonstop moshing and relentless energy.

Throughout the performance, Rocky demonstrated why he belongs on the arena stage. Fans sang along to every lyric, danced to favorites like “Fashion Killa” and “Jukebox Joints,” and embraced every moment. While the mosh pits occasionally became intense, they never overshadowed the overall experience.

The production itself was among the most impressive I’ve seen. Lasers, pyrotechnics, helicopter props and even a full SWAT team brought the visual theme of the Don’t Be Dumb album to life. On his first tour since releasing the album, Rocky seamlessly blended nostalgic fan favorites with new material.

Closing thoughts

A$AP Rocky delivered exactly what fans have come to expect: precision, confidence and unmatched energy. It’s remarkable that he can perform at such an intense level night after night, but he continues to do just that. This was one of the best concert productions I’ve seen in years, and I highly recommend catching the Don’t Be Dumb Tour when it comes to a city near you.
