Corporación de La Fonda announced today that it has closed the sale of the Hassayampa Inn, a 67-room full-service art-deco hotel built in 1927 and located in Prescott.
The property was acquired by Michael V. Kouvelas, current general manager of the hotel. Kouvelas is an Arizona resident and second-generation hotelier as principal of Aris Ventures, LLC and owner of Aris Hospitality Management, LLC.
“We are excited for Michael and for the future of this iconic property, as it is a dynamic hotel in an incredible location, “ said Jennifer Kimball, chairman of the board of Corporación de La Fonda. “The hotel has been a beloved getaway and respite complete with historical charm and hospitality. We are confident that Michael will continue to build on its success.”
Located in downtown Prescott near the historic Courthouse Square, Hassayampa Inn is a member of the National Trust of Historic Hotels of America. Built in 1927, the inn is one of Arizona’s oldest, offering modern amenities combined with a long tradition of exemplary service. It has 67 uniquely decorated guest rooms and suites, the recently renovated Peacock Room restaurant, bar and lounge, indoor and outdoor meeting spaces, and a beautiful gazebo wedding venue.
“This opportunity to be part of such an amazing historical property and community is fulfilling dream that began for me while attending college in Prescott some time ago,” Kouvelas said. “The Hassayampa Inn is a true gem full of history and memories touching so many over the past 85 years, and Aris Hospitality Management is honored to continue those traditions.”
