Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, Arizona’s popular ‘Neighborhood Burger Joint,’ opens Thurs., March 16, 11am, in the Town of Maricopa, 20350 N. John Wayne Pkwy, Suite 160, Maricopa AZ 85139, at Sonoran Creek Marketplace.  This becomes the 14th location for the homegrown Arizona company.

DEEPER DIVE: 10 ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Metro Phoenix

Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers began in North Scottsdale in 2011.  The Maricopa location boasts a 50-foot bar, the largest of any to date. With Maricopa, Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers now has 14 locations and two more slated to open this year — in Buckeye in the Verrado community, and in metro Tucson in Oro Valley.

This long-awaited Maricopa locale is approximately 5,000 square feet, and features a 2,000 square-foot patio, large enough for 100 guests and ideal for private gatherings.  Signature plush leather booths; the 50-foot bar; 50 HD flat screen TVs to catch the latest sporting events; and a state-of-the-art sound system are all here.

Square One Concepts is the umbrella company of Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers.  The restaurant group also has two locations of the upscale Bourbon & Bones Chophouse|Bar, with two more locations opening this year — in Peoria and also at Chase Field; B&B Cocktail Lounge in Old Town Scottsdale; Famous 48, in Scottsdale with another location set for Gilbert this year; and Wasted Grain with its tucked-away Old Town Ski Lodge in Old Town Scottsdale.

Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers first distinguished itself in 2011, when the first location opened in the Grayhawk neighborhood of North Scottsdale, delivering flavorful food from a scratch kitchen, featuring its half-pound burgers, hand-formed, made-to-order from fresh, never frozen ground chuck.

Today, popular burgers besides the original All-American include the Open Pit of cheddar cheese, pepper jack cheese, sugar-cured bacon, an onion ring and BBQ sauce; the Ring of Fire with pepper jack cheese, buffalo sauce, jalapenos, spicy mayo and a spiced onion ring; and many others.

And, of course, the Mmmac & Cheese, is an everyday menu indulgence, also featured as a Monday special with unlimited toppings and even spotted on a burger (Mmmac & Cheeseburger with grilled tomatoes!)  Other items such as the Monterey Chicken sandwich with sugar-cured bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, avocado, lettuce & tomato, or the Asian Chicken Salad with cilantro, carrots, tortilla strips, peanut sauce, green onion and a honey lime vinaigrette are crowd pleasers.  Ever-popular starters are Big Azz Nachos with black beans, roasted pepper cheese sauce, pico de gallo, jalapenos, sour cream and guacamole; and the Original Tot Chos, a happy marriage of tater tots and nacho flavors, this one with beef chili, roasted pepper cheese, sour cream and guacamole; or the Cheeseburger Fries with seasoned ground chuck, roasted pepper cheese, sugar-cured bacon and cheddar cheese.  And who would’ve thought that the Stadium Char Dogs very possibly might outshine the ample variety of burgers?

Overall, the secret of Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers is its mix of quality food, casual comfort and, of course, cold beers, a winning trio that has made it a favorite since the beginning.
