However, all that can be eliminated if you can avoid some common mistakes that most people make when they move houses.
Not Planning in Advance
Generally, you are aware that you would be moving out on a particular day. Usually, this period is quite decent, big enough to allow you to start planning. Yet many people have a knack of leaving everything at the last moment. This is one of the biggest blunders that people do commonly. Leaving everything at the last moment means that you will not have ample time to research your options and you might as well end up making a poor decision. Last-minute preps also don’t allow you to keep any buffer time for unforeseen circumstances.

Moving places is not easy even if you are super organized. There are a hundred little things that you need to pack up when you are moving out. The first reaction to solve the problem is to hire a moving company. Interestingly, there is another group of people that do not believe in hiring external help; the fact that movers charge a fee to take your inventory from one place to another does not settle well with them. As a result, they are tempted to avoid hiring such services and try to do the entire process on their own. As simple as it sounds, moving places can be very complicated especially if you have other commitments on your plate. Besides that, you might need certain tools for assembling and disassembling your furniture. Even if you hire a moving service, you need to be sure you are hiring the right person. All that takes quite a research so that you know you are making an informed decision. Stories of people being scammed are common because they do not invest much time in researching their options.
Mismanagement.
Two days before moving your house is in a mess and you have no choice but to stuff things in random boxes. This is a common practice, but not an ideal one. Packing up this way means you are at a greater risk of losing your inventory. Moreover, there is a greater chance of damage if things are not packed together correctly since everything has a different handling protocol. You should start early and start organizing before the actual process begins. Make a list of everything that you wish to take. Allocate your inventory in different categories and pack similar inventory together. Label the contents of each box and write any handling instructions if you have on it. This will improve your unpacking process exponentially and it would be a lot easier to keep a track of your items.
