Tournament Chairman Matt Mooney announced today Arizona Diamondbacks superstars Corbin Burnes and Zac Gallen, along with manager Torey Lovullo, are among the latest professional athletes and celebrities confirmed to play in the popular Annexus Pro-Am at the 2025 WM Phoenix Open. The event will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course.

“The Thunderbirds are so grateful for our close relationship with the Arizona Diamondbacks, and our fans are always so excited to come out and cheer them on. This year, we’re thrilled to have Zac, Corbin and Torey join the pro-am lineup,” Mooney said. “Zac and Torey have played before so they have an idea what to expect, but we’re looking forward to watching Corbin handle the 16th hole for the first time.”
A two-time MLB All-Star and the 2021 National League Cy Young Award winner, Burnes was acquired by the Arizona Diamondbacks via free agency ahead of the 2025 season, solidifying the team’s pitching rotation. Over his career, Burnes has compiled an impressive 3.21 ERA with more than 1,000 strikeouts in just six full MLB seasons. His standout 2021 campaign saw him lead the National League in ERA, and he followed that with a league-leading strikeout total in 2022. Burnes will be making his debut at the Annexus Pro-Am.
A 2023 MLB All-Star, Zac Gallen has been a key piece of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ rotation since joining the team in 2019. Known for his consistency, Zac Gallen has posted a career ERA of 3.17 while surpassing 800 strikeouts in just five seasons. His 2023 campaign featured career highs in wins and innings pitched, helping lead the Diamondbacks to a memorable postseason run. Gallen will make his third appearance at the Annexus Pro-Am.
Lovullo has managed the Arizona Diamondbacks since November 2016, making him the longest-tenured manager in franchise history. During his time with the team, he has overseen multiple competitive seasons, including a playoff berth in his first year, which earned him National League Manager of the Year honors in 2017. In 2023, he guided the Diamondbacks to a World Series appearance, highlighted by a sweep of the Dodgers in the NLDS. Before his managerial career, Lovullo played eight seasons in Major League Baseball as an infielder for teams such as the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees and served as the bench coach for the Boston Red Sox. Lovullo will make his second appearance at the Annexus Pro-Am.
