Tacos and margaritas, what else could anyone want? CRUjiente Tacos opened on Nov. 7, 2016, but will be celebrating its five-year anniversary on Nov. 6 with $5 Premier CRU Margaritas and complimentary tequila and mezcal tastings.

Established by an accomplished culinary expert and fine wine connoisseur, CRUjiente Tacos explores refined tastes in a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere.  Its unique taco selection and extravagant drinks have made them a must-eat taco spot in the Valley.

“We are so proud to celebrate five incredible years of bringing redefined renditions of classic Mexican cuisine to the Valley. It has been such an honor to watch this restaurant grow into what Chef Rich and I knew it could be, and we look forward to continuing to grow this vision for many more years to come,” says Jason Morris, co-founder of CRUjiente Tacos.

Rich Hinojosa, co-founder and executive chef, explains that the restaurant is a love letter to his youth.

“When we started CRUjiente Tacos, I had a story that I wanted to tell–a story that encompassed food and memories from my childhood, my travels and my many dishes shared over the years with family and friends. These memories were translated into both crunchy and street-style tacos that I wanted to be technique driven, ingredient focused and thoughtfully presented,” Hinojosa says.

He continues, “Over the past five years we have received a tremendous response to these tacos, which I am very proud of, but I look forward to continuing our commitment to excellence as we push CRU forward as a modern taqueria.”

CRUjiente is as modern as it gets. From their Korean fried chicken taco to their Texas wagyu cap steak taco, CRU has put their own spin on what a taco can be, which is why they have received such high praise from critics and clients alike.

The restaurant has been recognized as “Best in the Valley” by Phoenix magazine for its tacos and margaritas, a two-time Grand Champion of the Arizona Taco Festival, “Best Tacos” by the Arizona Restaurant Association’s 2017 Foodist Awards and others.

Nationally, the dedicated hospitality team behind CRUjiente Tacos has put their tacos and beverage program on a national map and has been highly acclaimed by FORBES, Food Network, Southwest: The Magazine, Liquor.com and much more.
