Beauty. Style. Charm. No matter how you think of it, the natural and built features of our community contribute to Scottsdale’s allure as a great place to live, work and visit.
What unique characteristics define areas of Scottsdale? How important are they? Those are some of the important community questions discussed in a pair of interactive workshops on August 22 that are part of the General Plan 2014 process.
Participants in the workshops will learn more about Character Area Plans and how they help identify and preserve unique aspects of our community.
Character Area Plans are components of the General Plan that are used to guide future development and revitalization within specific areas of the city. Character Area Plans focus on area-related goals and policies whereas the General Plan provides goals and policies applicable to the city as a whole.
Through a series of interactive exercises featuring maps and other visual tools, participants in the August 22 workshops will help determine where Scottsdale’s character areas should be.
Two sessions featuring the same content and format are planned at the Mountain View Recreation Center. The first runs from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and the second runs from 6 – 8 p.m.
Registration begins August 5 for the workshops. To sign up, visit: scottsdalegp.com.
