The Downtown Mesa Association is rewarding those who take a trip around area businesses.
Locals and visitors are invited to pick up a summer passport from 24 participating businesses that fall under the eat, drink, shop and/or play categories. Get three stamps for a chance to win bi-weekly prizes or the grand prize at the end of the promotion.

After the three stamps, visitors turn it in for a drawing to win prizes like gift cards to local businesses or Downtown Mesa Association swag. The grand prize is an overnight stay at Downtown’s Delta Phoenix-Mesa Hotel and a $500 Downtown Mesa gift card, among other gifts, said Enrique Caro, the Downtown Mesa Association’s events and marketing coordinator.
Participants include Against the Grain Food, Blossom on Main, Blue Corn Café & Bakery, Gather Mercantile, Margaritas Fresh Cocina, Mad Candy, Mesa Padel Club and the Mesa Arts Center.
“This is an initiative to bring people to Downtown Mesa during the summer,” Caro said.
“Summer can be slow for businesses. With the promotion, guests can get a ‘passport’ at participating businesses or from our website. The passport has four categories: eat, drink, shop and play. You take it to any participant and get the passport stamped.”
The promotion ends Friday, Sept. 11, coinciding with the return of the Sunset Market at Macdonald and Main Street. The event is held the second Friday of each month from 5 to 9 p.m.
“It’s really nice to see all these businesses come together and be open to doing something like this,” Caro said.
“It’s a fun little activity to do on the weekends or during the week.”
