The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks, @LosDbacks) will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the team’s first game (March 31, 1998) and will face the same opponent (Colorado Rockies) this Saturday at 5:10 p.m. at Chase Field. The first 20,000 fans will receive a 20th Anniversary Replica Jersey, courtesy of Chase.

The game will feature a pregame ceremony that will replicate the original first pitch from Andy Benes to Jorge Fabregas, with Mike Lansing at bat. Sam Moore, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and part of a group that sang the national anthem on Opening Day in 1998, will perform the Star-Spangled Banner. D-backs players and coaches will also wear a throwback jersey and cap honoring the inaugural game.

Prior to the game, the D-backs will recognize all of the season ticket holders and corporate partners who have been with the D-backs since 1998 during a special pregame ceremony. The D-backs will also bring back a group of 20-year-olds who were all born at Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center on Opening Day in 1998. The unique group is part of the Fans for Life program and receive tickets to attend Opening Day every season.

Fans are encouraged to check out the 20th Anniversary Experience, a 2,000 square-foot exhibit at Chase Field, located on the main concourse in right field behind the Coors Light Strike Zone. It features historic artifacts, memorabilia and photography celebrating the team’s history and a wall featuring baseballs signed by nearly all D-backs players and coaches. The Experience also includes a showcase of the team’s 2001 World Series championship and several Silver Slugger, Gold Glove and Cy Young Awards won by D-backs players.

Fans can still cast their vote for the D-backs All-Time Team, presented by Gila River Hotels & Casinos, at dbacks.com/20 and will automatically be entered in the All-Time Team Sweepstakes to win an autographed 20th Anniversary jersey signed by several D-backs Alumni players and four lower-level tickets to enjoy the game on Aug. 4. Voting ends by 4:59 p.m. MST on May 15.
