Casino Arizona offers a fun after-work event where locals and visitors can learn a few new steps. The Arizona Room Patio Grill, a restaurant and sports bar located within the casino, features free dance lessons every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Tuesdays, the Arizona Room heats up with Latin Fire Dance Nights. Instruction begins at 6 pm with dance pros Nikki Di Giorgio and Jason Schenck. Di Giorgio graduated as a musical theater major from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. She has performed at Casino Arizona and nearly every casino in Atlantic City; she also danced for Celebrity Cruise Lines’ European tour. Schneck has been dancing for more than 20 years and teaching for more than a decade. He was on a National Collegiate Championship Team and has performed at various venues around the Valley.
Latin dance styles will vary depending on the proficiency level of the room. The instructors will focus on a different dance each week, with styles including Salsa, Merengue, Cha-Cha, Rhumba and Bachata. The lessons wrap up at 8 pm, but dancers can continue to try out their new moves from 8 pm – midnight, accompanied by live music from La Propuesta Band.
Country music takes over the Arizona Room on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Learn moves like the Texas Swing, West Coast Swing, line dancing and more. Instruction starts at 6 pm and is led by Lania Lee. Lee is the owner of Dance Lane and the organizer of the East Valley Kickers Meet Up. She has more than 20 years of dance experience and has taught numerous couples and individuals the joy of dancing. Try out your latest two-step from 8 pm – midnight as Daisy Train plays the top country hits.
