Shop With The Chef: Westin's Culinary Experience For Your Taste Buds, Health

The Westin Downtown Phoenix Hotel’s Province isn’t just serving dinner. The chefs are taking its patrons along for the journey — from choosing produce to tasting the final product — with Shop with the Chef.

The Westin’s Shop with the Chef package gives guests and attendees the opportunity to meet and interactive with the Westin’s chef, learn about their food choices, shop at a local market, as well as enjoy a three-course lunch. Break up the mundane, and eat healthier foods without losing the flavor you crave.

Your culinary journey will begin on a Saturday with a meet and greet session with the chef at the hotel’s on-site restaurant, Province. Guests will then take a stroll through the Phoenix Open-Air Market, located just two blocks north of the hotel. This allows guests the opportunity to help pick the fresh ingredients for their lunch as well as gain knowledge about the nutritional value of the produce, herbs and spices. The Phoenix Open-Air market offers fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables, jam goods, dried beans, eggs, live plants and more. You can also discuss how to pick the best seasonal items with the chef.

After the trip to the Phoenix Open-Air Market, guests will return to the Westin Phoenix Downtown, greeted with a beverage to relax and await the fresh ingredients that will become the ultimate lunch experience served in Province’s modern, spacious dining room.

The Shop with the Chef package is available on weekends from September 8 through October 27, 2012 at $79 per person. And for those interested in staying the night, the Westin offers overnight packages with rates starting from $329. Reservations for this event need to be made at least 48 hours in advance.
