There will be no flag on the play as Tempe Mission Palms crosses the line and scores a touchdown with its tailgate parties for Arizona State University Sun Devils’ 2016-17 football season.

ASU’s Sun Devil spirit (and pitchforks) will be out in full force during tailgate festivities, which will begin approximately three hours prior to every home game kick-off. In addition to free activities for fans, including games such as cornhole and ladder ball, there will be live music, featuring local favorites, pumping through the hotel parking lot.

Beginning with the season opener on Saturday, Sept. 3 against Northern Arizona University, hungry fans will get much more than they bargained for during the six-game tailgate series, which features a full menu of game-day classics from the hotel’s signature restaurants.

Fans can feed their game-day hunger with gourmet hamburgers ($6), hot dogs ($4), beef fajitas ($7), BBQ pulled chicken ($6) or turkey wraps ($6), accompanied by either coleslaw ($3) or potato salad ($3). And whether sweet or salty, no game is complete without a snack, including bags of chips ($2), full-size candy bars ($2), ice cream bars ($3), caramel corn ($3) and cookies ($2). A wide selection of beer and wine will also be available for purchase.

And for fans who want to go for the two-point conversion, the hotel will offer a Stay-‘n’- Play package starting at $144, which includes deluxe accommodations for a one-night stay, two tailgate meals per guest room (entrée/side/beverage) with kids under 12 eating for free, and a late check-out of 2 p.m. Whether fans root for ASU or the visiting team, they can book the deal using the code ECCST1.

  • Carol Pacey and the Honey Shakers will play from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

2. Saturday, Sept. 10: ASU vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders

  • Tailgate: 4:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • Walt Richardson will play from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • Game time: 7 p.m.

3. Saturday, Sept. 24: ASU vs. California Golden Bears

4. Saturday, Oct. 8: ASU vs. UCLA Bruins
