With Governor Ducey’s latest phase of reopening the state, the Scottsdale Gallery Association (SGA) announced that the Scottsdale Arts District and many of its galleries are open for business. In an effort to ensure the health and safety of gallery patrons, each SGA member gallery has put additional safety measures into place including scheduling private appointments. “We are thrilled to welcome back our art community and would like to offer patrons peace of mind by ensuring them that we have done everything we can as an association to help them feel safe and comfortable returning to our Arts District,” says Scottsdale Gallery Association President French Thompson. “We are grateful for all the loyal art aficionados from the valley — and around the country — that continue to support our local galleries and artists.” The following galleries are open with the following safety protocols: Carstens Fine Art7077 E. Main St., #5 Currently by appointment only, Carstens’ reopens Friday, May 15, with enhanced safety procedures in place, and regular summer hours, 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and Thursday through Saturday. French Designer Jeweler7148 E. Main St. Currently by appointment only, French Designer Jeweler officially opens Monday, May 18 with weekly hours Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Gallery employees will be wearing masks and request that patrons wear masks as well. Hand sanitizer will be offered, and all jewelry will be sanitized after it has been tried on or touched. Gebert Contemporary7160 Main St. Reopening May 12, Gebert Contemporary’s two-level gallery offers ample space for easy social distancing while viewing art. Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Legacy Gallery7178 E. Main Street Now open from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. daily, The Legacy Gallery offers 17,000 square feet of viewing space, making it ideal for social distancing. The Gallery’s Scottsdale Art Auction is now open for viewing, and the Auction itself has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 13, beginning at 9:00 a.m. King Galleries7077 E. Main St., #20 Now open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and for private appointment as well, King Galleries’ employees wear masks and have masks, gloves (if desired) and hand sanitizer available for patrons. Social distancing is observed including limiting the number of guests in the gallery at a time; private viewing appointments can be scheduled upon request. All items are packed and shipped in house in accordance with health standard requirements. Quan’tum Art, Inc.7077 E. Main St., #16 Currently open by appointment only until stay-at-at home order is lifted on Friday, May 15 (or after, if extended). Call to schedule a private viewing. Signature Gallery7177 E. Main St. Signature Gallery is now open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily with enhanced sanitation efforts including offering hand sanitizer for guests. Wilde Meyer Gallery 4142 N. Marshall Way With a soft opening on Friday, May 8, Wilde Meyer Gallery officially reopens Friday, May 15. The Gallery sanitizes all surfaces and commonly touched areas frequently, and staff wear masks. Masks and sanitizer available is available for visiting clients and social distancing is observed. Gallery hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday. Beginning Thursday, May 21, the Gallery will be open Thursday evenings during ArtWalk. Xanadu Gallery7039 E. Main St., #101 Now open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Xanadu Gallery now features social distance requirements and additional sanitizing protocols. The Scottsdale Gallery Association hosts the nation’s oldest ArtWalk — 45 years and counting! — every Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with eight specially themed Gold Palette ArtWalks occurring throughout the year that offer guests refreshments, entertainment, specialty exhibits and more aligned with each theme. The SGA ArtWalk brings together the finest art in Scottsdale including 28 galleries and two museums — Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West. The Thursday night artwalk series is currently on hold in light of COVID-19 but will resume this summer on a date TBD. |
