Starting Sept. 1, Visit Mesa will launch a series of themed vacation packages as part of their new Escape to Mesa campaign targeted to area locals and statewide residents. The tourism marketing organization partnered with the City of Mesa’s Economic Development team on the new outreach aimed at reopening the city’s tourism industry for visitors. Escape to Mesa vacation packages feature a $150 incentive to guests that book a 2 or more-night stay in Mesa hotels and will be available for a limited time.
There are three themed vacation packages to choose from: Weekend Warrior, Family Fun and Relaxation Retreat. After visitors book their Mesa hotel stay, they can register their upcoming vacation on the website, www.EscapetoMesa.com and qualify for $100 toward a Mesa experience, attraction or service and an additional $50 gift card to a Mesa restaurant.
“Escape to Mesa is a new collaboration between the City of Mesa and Visit Mesa designed to help support our tourism industry,” Mayor John Giles said. “I hope Mesa residents take advantage of this special offer and enjoy a weekend at one of our stellar hotels and check out the fun activities our great city has to offer. Let’s make up our summer vacations right here in Mesa.”
Visit Mesa has redirected much of its tourism marketing efforts in the last six months to help support the local community and has established numerous resource campaigns online for Mesa businesses. The Escape to Mesa packages were developed to help stimulate Mesa’s economy as the state safely begins to reopen, while increasing awareness of Mesa’s hotel industry being ready for visitors in the fall and winter months. The booking incentive will be marketed through the end of the year, while supplies last.
“Our hotels are ready to welcome visitors back to Mesa,” said Visit Mesa President & CEO Marc Garcia. “Safety measures are in place and updated daily to ensure our guest’s comfort level is taken into consideration at every turn. The Escape to Mesa packages represent our most ambitious campaign in years. With marketing support from the City of Mesa, we are targeting locals and ultimately all Arizonans and inviting them to discover the rich destination that lies right outside their doorstep.”
Visitors are vital to Mesa’s economy and enhance the quality of life for Mesa’s half-a-million residents. According to Longwoods International, Mesa attracts 4.5 Million visitors a year. In 2019, visitor spending in Mesa was climbing to record levels. The latest data shows that Mesa visitors spent $486 million in both day-trip visits and overnight stays.
To qualify for the promotion, visitors must register online and connect with Visit Mesa’s concierge staff who will verify if their hotel stay qualifies for the promotion and identify participating businesses for the $150 incentive. Each Escape to Mesa package has a variety of activity options available to choose from, some restrictions apply.
