Win a walk-on role in Ballet Arizona’s ‘The Nutcracker’

Experience AZ | 30 Nov |

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Ballet Arizona is out to make the holidays even more special for four lucky kids.

Four children will win the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of the magic on stage and behind the scenes – a walk-on role in the production that The New York Times named among the top three in the country.

Ballet Arizona’s The Nutcracker includes a cast of more 150 youth dancers who auditioned for the opportunity to join the company’s professional dancers in this acclaimed production. The children who win the special cast experience will perform alongside the cast as a Toy Soldier, ushering onto the stage the cannon that is part of the epic battle between the Nutcracker’s toy soldier army and the Mouse King’s minions.

In addition to his or her onstage debut, each winner will receive two free tickets to the same performance of The Nutcracker and an opportunity to be behind-the-scenes during part of the performance, watching part of the production from wings of the Symphony Hall stage.

“We’ve seen the eyes of children light up when experiencing The Nutcracker from the audience, and it is incredible to see our hard work pay off with such appreciation,” said Samantha Turner, executive director at Ballet Arizona. “The walk-on role allows children to experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create an unforgettable holiday moment.”

Entrants should be willing to perform onstage, between the ages of 7 and 13, and a height between 4’5” and 5’0”. All other details and performance parameters are available at balletaz.org/nutcrackercastexperience. Giveaway rules are available at balletaz.org/giveaway_rules.
