Spring is right around the corner. Sure, you could do your spring-cleaning but why not re-stock your makeup bag to match the season first? Lilly Garfield, CEO of CosBar, and Gloria Banuelos, the Scottsdale CosBar store manager, shared some makeup tips to keep your face trendy this spring. With so much knowledge and great recommendations, you are sure to freshen up your look for the spring season with help from the experts.

It’s all about the eyes

Color is big right now — pastels, plums and pinks, to be exact.

Garfield says makeup is an accessory that needs to match your clothes and lifestyle. As you get older, less is better. You can still wear these new colors if it suits your way of life, but do so less dramatically. Wear eye shadow, but use moderately and blend colors to make it less vivid than what you wore in the ’80s. For eyeliners, thinning the application is an easy way to brighten up your look. blush and lips will work well this spring. Picking your colors to match your other makeup and clothing is key. Banuelos says Bobbi Brown’s Black Plum has been flying off shelves. To keep it simple, try Bobbi Brown’s soft grey eyeliner, Smoke.Keeping with the theme of plums and pinks, try the four eye shadows that Chanel offers under the color Quadrille.

Pink lips and rosy cheeks

To sum up your spring makeup scheme in one word — match. Wear what’s now, and wear it correctly. Garfield’s philosophy is this: if you buy a lipstick, make sure you have a coordinating blush, so your makeup doesn’t clash. Since plum and pink are spring’s color for the eyes, it makes sense that your lips and cheeks should also receive matching hues. The colors recommended for the lips are from Chanel. Try its lip liner aqua crayon in Raspberry Red, which matches the pink and plum shades mentioned

earlier. For a gloss, try Murmure (179). Changing brands for blush, Banuelos recommends Nars’ Orgasm because it matches almost every color and will give you a beautiful glow.

Get glowing skin

Spring comes with the expectation of radiant skin. Garfield suggests starting with Laura Mercier’s foundation primer Radiance to give your skin an illuminated look. It also creates a fresh slate on which to apply foundation. The next step is to use the Amore Pacific Control Cushion Compact. Banuelos says this compact has coverage, SPF and naturally smoothes the skin. The morning’s last step to a glowing look, use Nars’ bronzer Laguna and its Orgasm blush. Banuelos says the Anti-Aging Eye & Lip Perfection à Porter by La Paire is Garfield’s “4-o’clock touch up.” It works because it does not disrupt the makeup that is already on, but rather sits well on top of it.
