Meet the Models spotlights each and every model featured in Scottsdale Living — so you can get to know them better.

Up next on Meet the Models, meet Jacqulyn Woodworth, who sports a beautiful one-piece bandeau, Palm Harbour, by Carmen Marc Valvo in our Spring 2012 issue.

How did you start modeling?

I don’t consider myself a model until it starts paying all my bills and strangers know my name. I went to this modeling thing in Vegas when I was 19; I got a lot of callbacks from agencies like Wilhelmina, NY Models, LA Models, etc., but they all wanted me to lose more inches around my waist. I didn’t get back into it until last year when I signed with City Models in San Francisco. I ended up moving to Phoenix and signing with Deborah Maddox Agency. I have the opportunity to go to L.A. this summer or Milan to model; not sure what I want to do yet, but I feel very blessed.

What type of modeling do you like the most and why?

I’ve only done prints, but I love photo shoots. It’s pretty cool to see what the model and photographer can create.

What is your favorite shoot you’ve done and why?Jacqulyn Woodworth

My favorite shoot was in San Francisco; it was for awareness about how people are affecting the wildlife and their environment. It was an eight-and-a-half-hour day, the wind was blowing on the coast where we were shooting, and I was freezing all day. It was so worth it, though, when I saw the end results.

What advice would you give to someone interested in modeling?

I would advise them to get some pictures taken ― not professionally because agencies want to see the 100 percent real you so they know what they’re working with. Take a headshot, upper body, whole body, and one that shows your personality. Make sure they are the right measurements and email them out to all the biggest agencies in New York and L.A. Most agencies’ websites make it so you can submit your picture and info. on their site.
