Sam’s Club will open its store doors at Tempe Marketplace on August 7, following its fuel station grand opening in June. The membership club, a division of Walmart, Inc., will provide convenient shopping options including curbside pickup, home delivery, and the new Scan & Go™ technology. As one of the newest tech forward retail concepts, members will use the new check out free Scan & Go™ feature in the Sam’s Club app as the primary form of payment. Guests will scan each product as they shop, and computer vision-powered exit technology will verify the goods purchased upon exiting the club. Sam’s Club offers a curated assortment of quality fresh food and Member’s Mark® items, general merchandise, pharmacy and optical services, tire, battery center savings, and much more.
“We’re thrilled to officially welcome Sam’s Club to Tempe Marketplace as it unveils a cutting-edge, technology-driven store” said Taylor Alvey, vice president of leasing at Vestar. “This concept sets a new standard for retail innovation and aligns with our vision of creating a dynamic, experience-driven shopping destination.”
Additionally, JD Sports, a global leader in premium sports fashion, is slated to open its doors in early 2026. Spanning approximately 5,700 square feet, the new store will be located in the district and offer a curated selection of the latest footwear, athletic apparel, and accessories from top brands like Nike, Adidas, and Puma. The location will serve as a hub for trend-driven shoppers looking to stay ahead of the fashion curve, while tapping into the brand’s global influence and community-first approach.
The popular shopping district has also recently announced several exciting new tenants coming soon to the district. Carhartt, the iconic workwear brand with a legacy dating back to 1889, will launch its first Phoenix Metro location in a more than 6,000 square-foot space, offering a wide selection of durable clothing and accessories for hardworking professionals and outdoor enthusiasts. Lovisa Jewelry, now open next to Handel’s Ice Cream, brings its fashion-forward, affordable jewelry in a 1,000+ square-foot boutique, with new styles introduced weekly and a focus on personalized styling advice. Opening this fall, Relive Med Spa, will debut a 2,000+ square-foot wellness center specializing in medical aesthetics and preventative care, offering services like hormone therapy, IV vitamin drips, Botox, HydraFacial®, and more.
