For the first time, Barrio Queen is expanding its presence to the West Valley with its first location set to open in Glendale at 7640 W. Bell Road. The new location, set to open in early spring of 2020, will be the restaurant’s biggest yet, encompassing more than 7,000 square feet.
“We have had a lot of requests to bring the Barrio to the west side,” says Barrio Queen management. “We have been looking for a while for the perfect spot for our brand and we believe we have found one in this area of Bell Road.”
The location will be designed with a similar feel as the other existing five locations—Scottsdale, Gilbert, North Phoenix, Tempe and Queen Creek—but will have a new, special vibe. As with the other locations, renowned local Mexican artist Genaro Garcia will assist in the design, and his art will be displayed once the restaurant is open.
As Barrio Queen’s menu is always evolving, the Glendale location will serve the same authentic Mexican dishes the restaurant is known for, with new additions, as well.
“We believe that the west side of Phoenix is ready for Barrio. We look forward to serving the people of the Glendale area with our great Mexican menu, our traditional Mexican culture, and our extensive tequila and Mescal list, as well as our craft cocktails.”
The Glendale location is Barrio’s sixth in the Valley. The company is excited to announce that it is also planning a seventh location in Avondale, with details to be released shortly.
Since opening its first location, Barrio Queen has garnered numerous awards, including “Top 10 Best Table Side Guacamole” from USA Today, “Best New Restaurants in America” from Esquire’s Restaurants, first place in the nation for best tabletop installations from Table Top Awards, “Best Guacamole” from Travel+Leisure, “Best Tacos in Phoenix“ from 3TV and CBS 5 and “Best of Phoenix Skinny Chola Margarita” from Phoenix New Times.
