If you’re heading out to Mill Avenue for New Year’s Eve, why not do it surrounded by platefuls of award-winning food at the District’s newest bar/restaurant?
Riot Hospitality Group (RHG) will celebrate the grand opening of El Hefe Super Macho Taqueria in Tempe on Tuesday, December 31. The award-winning restaurant and bar concept will be located at 640 S. Mill Ave — the former location of Canteen Modern Tequila Bar. The New Year’s Eve celebration will take place in the courtyard behind El Hefe and RHG’s newest venue, Public House on Sixth. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the event is 21 years and older.
Riot Hospitality Group, operators of El Hefe in Old Town Scottsdale/Downtown Chicago, Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row in Scottsdale and Public House on Sixth in Tempe are proud to be opening the third El Hefe location in Tempe. RHG is known for its from-scratch kitchens, excellent service and quality of product and is expanding its brand to win over the Tempe market with unique venues.
“We are thrilled with the success of El Hefe in Old Town Scottsdale and Downtown Chicago and are excited to be announcing the third location in the heart of Tempe,” said Ryan Hibbert, chief executive officer of Riot Hospitality Group. “Tempe is a prime location filled with lively college students and culture and we can’t wait to open our doors.”
El Hefe Super Macho Taqueria Tempe will offer a seamless blend of dining and nightlife. The venue will serve a fresh take on the traditional Mexican Taqueria menu, which offers organic ingredients, house made salsas, unique flavor combinations and award-winning food such as the Hefe Hamburguesa, which won “Best Burger” in 2012 at the Arizona Culinary Festival. El Hefe also won 2013 Phoenix New Times Best Of for “Best Place to Stay Up Late on a Sunday Night.” El Hefe Tempe will also feature the famous “Beer-Garita,” which is your choice of a 32 oz. margarita with a 7 oz. bottle of beer poured upside-down.
The décor is unlike your average Mexican restaurant with natural elements, old school Mexican style and pop culture accents. El Hefe Tempe will be opened Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Note: Because this event is on Mill Ave. where the city’s annual New Year’s Eve Block Party takes place, an additional cover charge may apply for that party.
