The Stillery, one of Nashville’s hottest restaurants and bars will open its first location outside of Tennessee in downtown Chandler in the fall of this year. Located at Arizona Avenue and Chicago Street, The Stillery joins a line-up of much-anticipated businesses in the New Square mixed-use development, which is a creation of Spike Lawrence Ventures, in partnership with Rick Huffman of HCW, LLC.
The Stillery currently has two locations in Nashville, one in downtown and one in midtown. Founded by Chandler-residents, Steve and Alane Kovach, the new location will serve their signature menu of elevated comfort food, complete with Nashville hot chicken, double stacked burgers, wood-fired pizzas, and much more. A large horseshoe-shaped bar will be the perfect place to enjoy a unique, southern-style mason jar cocktail, local brew or moonshine. As the largest music venue in Chandler, the nearly 5,800 square foot space will have a dedicated stage and dance floor to showcase and enjoy live country music. Large garage doors will open to a spacious patio overlooking the New Square courtyard.
“At New Square, we’ve brought together a selection of businesses that fill a need and bring great meaning to the community. The Stillery is such an exciting addition and will help to further elevate downtown Chandler’s dining and nightlife scene,” said Spike Lawrence, founder of Spike Lawrence Ventures.
A hotbed for outdoor events and festivals, downtown Chandler will have an additional venue for showcasing live music. The New Square courtyard has a permanent stage equipped with lighting and state-of-the-art sound for hosting outdoor concerts of approximately 600 fans.
The Stillery joins an impressive list of local and national businesses at New Square. After nearly 10 years in their original location on Arizona Avenue, Dean and Laurie LaPlant are relocating their upscale DC Steak House a little further south to New Square. Longtime fans will still get to enjoy the same great steak, seafood and chops but in a new, modern 5,200 square foot space, complete with an eye-catching titanium bar complete with a center fire feature.
Also part of the New Square development is a four-story, 110-room Hilton Garden Inn, the first hotel to be built in downtown Chandler since the San Marcos Resort graced the scene more than 100 years ago. In addition, Great Western Bank is expanding to the area, opening a 12,000 square foot branch that will also serve as a regional office. WellSky, a health care software and services company is relocating from another area of Chandler to a 12,000 square foot office space in New Square. Adjacent to New Square is a brand new 940-space parking garage, developed by the City of Chandler.
The New Square project broke ground in late 2018. DC Steak House, the Hilton Garden Inn, Great Western Bank, and WellSky are slated to open spring of this year, with a public grand opening celebration on March 25 from 5 to 7:30 pm. The Stillery is anticipated to open fall of 2020. Commercial, class A office space is still available for lease, with Jerry Roberts and Pat Boyle of Cushman & Wakefield serving as the leasing agents.
