Thousands of letters are sent every year to Verona, Italy, the iconic setting for love stories and tragedies like “Romeo and Juliet.” The act of writing love letter is not as commonplace today. In fact, anything made by hand is considered of superior quality.
For couples who want to give the ancient art a shot, a well-written love letter can win a dinner for two at North Italia — a little slice of Italian homestyle cooking in Scottsdale and Phoenix.
Proclaim your love in-store, or if you are a modern romantic, online. All that is needed is the names of the soulmates, date you met, email address and most importantly your story.
Ditch the quick text or email and actually sit down to write out memorable details and feelings. If these ideas are complicated and hard to express in words, the time taken to try will be appreciated.
Valentine’s Day is around the corner and couples all over the world are planning an intimate reminder for their partners. Have you planned yet? Is it sentimental? This Valentine’s Day, a three-course prix fixe menu for $55 per person at North Italia is an option to remember your date.
North Italia refers to their restaurant as a “love letter to Italy.” This love letter is created by the concoction of different flavors, dishes made from scratch and with love.
Begin with a starter, like an introduction to a letter, the Bruschetta, Caesar Salad and Arancini. The main course, rich like the details in a letter, will include a Prosciutto Wrapped Pork Tenderloin with northern beans, broccolini and tomato agrodolce or a Grilled Branzino with farro, Tuscan kale, lemon soffritto, and fresh herbs.
Finally, sign off with a sweet note like a Salted Caramel Budino or layered Tiramisu.
If you have already planned your Valentine’s Day, know that no purchase necessary to enter the Love Letter to Italy contest. North Italia will continue to celebrate all through the month of February.
The winning story will be selected Feb. 21, 2015 and contacted via email. After all, you should never restrict showing someone you care only to the holiday where everyone else does.
Even if you do not win the contest, you are still left with a gem of effort that a loved one will surely enjoy. If you do win, you now have bragging rights and get to tell your partner you once convinced a whole restaurant on the authenticity of your love story.
