Thirsty Lion Gastropub, a division of Concept Entertainment Group (CEG) will open their newest location in Arizona at Westgate Entertainment District this December.  With other locations in Tempe, Gilbert, Chandler and North Phoenix, this will be the fifth location in the Valley of the Sun.  Known for their from-scratch cooking, seasonal menus with fresh, bold, ingredients and an extensive craft cocktails and beer menu, the Glendale location, the largest of five, will feature an open-kitchen concept, interior dining, two floors, flat-screen televisions for sports spectators, indoor and outdoor bars, and open-air upstairs and downstairs patios, perfect for large groups and private parties. President and CEO John Plew says, “We are thrilled to bring our latest design to the West Valley because it is a thriving area with strong businesses, services and a great community around it. We look forward to connecting with residents and sharing this new gathering place with the Valley.”

The Westgate location broke ground on June 20th and will be located on the corner of West Coyotes and Sunset boulevards.  It will offer 12,654 square feet of dining space for up to 515 guests.  Glendale Mayor, Jerry P. Weiers was in attendance at the groundbreaking and said, “We are excited to welcome Thirsty Lion and their largest restaurant in Arizona to the heart of our Sports & Entertainment District.  They will be a perfect addition to this vibrant and growing area of Glendale.”  

Thirsty Lion’s signature menu places an emphasis on providing options ranging from traditional American fare to multi-cultural cuisine. The restaurants’ feature local ingredients in addition to unique craft cocktails featuring fresh fruit purees, juices and premium liquors; a variety of local beers on tap and over twenty varieties of wines by the glass. Signature dishes include the Gorgonzola-infused Gastropub Burger; Grilled Ribeye Steak; Kung Pao Chicken; Grilled Atlantic Salmon; Ahi Poke Bowl; Gochujang BBQ Pork & Kimchi Fried Rice; the Seared Ahi Salad; Roasted Chicken Cesar Salad; Spicy Fried Cauliflower; Spicy Tuna Roll and Traditional Scotch Eggs. The menu also features shareable starters, salads, soups, sandwiches, burgers and kitchen specialties.

Thirsty Lion opened its first location in Arizona in the Fall of 2011, and has quickly expanded to include restaurants across Oregon, Arizona, Colorado and Texas. Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, Thirsty Lion Gastropub was named on “The inaugural list of 20 restaurants under 20 units with potential to scale far beyond their home markets and change the larger dining landscape,” by FSR Magazine.
