“Far from the ordinary, Faro & Brag is a space designed to elevate your senses and satisfy your cravings,” said Mike Tueros, director of food & beverage at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa. “We aim to deliver a one-of-a-kind dining experience where modern cuisine is brought to life through an imaginative menu curated with our guests’ well-being in mind.”
Rooted in the history and cultural identity of the greater Phoenix area, the restaurant’s name, Faro & Brag, draws inspiration from two historically popular games in Western saloons—Faro and Brag. Faro, a 17th-century French gambling game, and Brag, an 18th-century British card game, both epitomized the excitement and risk-taking environment of the Wild West.
“We look forward to welcoming both locals and resort guests to a new dining experience within The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, where the food and beverage serve as the centerpiece to a lively and memorable experience,” said Karen Cahn, director of marketing at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa.
Faro & Brag’s menu is reflective of fresh, seasonal and local ingredients that combine to showcase unique flavors and presentations. Spanning breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu boasts innovative dishes such as the Desert Springs Barramundi for lunch and specialties such as The Paella and Tamarind Braised Pork Shank for dinner. The new restaurant has ambitious plans to introduce monthly wine dinners and elaborate weekend brunches, which will contribute to creating a dining destination for the local community and hotel guests alike.
To complement the exceptional dining experience, Faro & Brag has curated a collection of signature cocktails, wines and bourbon flights. The Signature Black Manhattan, Popo’s Brag, and Train to Uno are just a few examples of the exquisite craftsmanship found within the cocktail menu. Additionally, the restaurant offers a selection of whiskey prials, paying homage to the game of Brag where a three-of-a-kind is known as a prial, including “Catching the Rye,” “It’s a Kentucky Thing” and “The Perfect Finish.”
Faro & Brag invites you to embark on a culinary voyage, where the food and beverage program combines to showcase unique flavors and presentation with each dish and beverage served. For more information, reservations and menu details, please click here.
