Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill announced that it will open a new location in the Mercado del Lago plaza located at 8300 N. Hayden Rd. Suite D-101 Scottsdale in February 2021.
The fully renovated 3,500 square-foot space with 35-foot-high ceilings will have a sleek, modern design. The large bar will be the focal point of the dining room with two hand-painted murals flanking the bar depicting scenes of Arizona and Austin, where the restaurant was founded. Dropped Edison bulbs and raw edge wood tables will add distinctive touches to the restaurant. Two sliding garage doors will allow for easy flow between the dining room and the 2,200 square-foot patio with lake views and access to the Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt park. A private dining room with a chef’s table will be available for special dinners and events.
“We are so excited to unveil this beautiful restaurant to the community,” said Robby Nethercut, chief operations officer at Z’Tejas. “We hope to dazzle our long-time fans and surprise our new guests with our incredible food, indulgent service and entertaining new space.”
The chef-driven menu will feature classic dishes for which Z’Tejas is known including the Shrimp Tostada Bites, Santa Fe Enchiladas and Diablo Pasta. Rotating seasonal menus will offer variety throughout the year by highlighting specialty dishes with drink pairings. The drinks menu with the Sixth Street house margarita, Chambord margarita, tequila flights and hand-crafted non-alcoholic drinks will satisfy any drinker’s requests.
Like the Chandler (7221 W. Ray Rd.) and Phoenix (10625 N. Tatum Blvd.) locations, the restaurant will offer daily happy hour specials and be open Sunday 1 through Thursday 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday closing at 10 p.m. with brunch served Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
