JLL promotes four senior brokers in Phoenix

The Phoenix office JLL has promoted four senior brokers, advancing Brett Abramson, Keith Lammersen and Steve Larsen to the title of Executive Vice President and Chris Latvaaho to the title of Senior Vice President.

“Each of these brokers is known for providing top-level service to their clients, being team players and consistently producing great results for the Phoenix office,” said JLL Senior Managing Director Pat Williams. “We congratulate them on their promotions and appreciate their commitment to help grow our capabilities for the benefit of JLL clients.” 

Abramson and Latvaaho serve with JLL Managing Director John Bonnell, specializing in agency representation for existing and ground-up development, and both institutional and entrepreneurial landlords. At JLL, this has included the representation of landmark projects including The Offices on High Street, Central Arts Plaza and Arizona Center. The brokers have more than three decades of collective experience.

Part of the JLL office since 2004, Lammersen specializes in tenant representation, providing corporate office solutions, site selection, lease renewal and negotiations for companies including Maricopa County and Indeed.

A 12-year industry veteran, Larsen specializes in industrial building and land sales, leasing and build-to-suits throughout metro Phoenix, with an emphasis in the Southeast Valley. Since joining JLL in the summer of 2012, Larsen has completed more than 6.7 million square feet of industrial deals valued at over $120 million.

Each of the brokers serves as leaders in the industry, from maintaining committee leadership positions with NAIOP and local philanthropic organizations to being recognized as CoStar Power Brokers and JLL Top Achievers.

McCarthy hires Jake Stones at project director

McCarthy Building Companies (www.mccarthy.com) recently hired Jake Stones as a project director for the Southwest region. He will be supporting McCarthy’s national Water Services program. 

In this position, Stones is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of project preconstruction services and construction execution, as well as maintaining an open client relationship while also ensuring project teams maintain the schedule and budget, prioritize safety and adhere to McCarthy’s strict quality standards.

Stones has led water and wastewater projects in Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Wyoming over the course of his career, including the award-winning Chandler Airport Water Reclamation Facility Expansion in Chandler, Ariz., and the West Side Water Treatment Plant project in Fort Worth, Texas.

“Jake will excel in the role of project director due to his dedication, ingenuity and passion for growing and developing high-functioning teams,” said Justin Kelton, president of McCarthy’s Southwest region. “His vast infrastructure experience, particularly in the water and wastewater industry, will be an asset to our Water Services team.”

Two JSH attorneys named to AADC Young Lawyer’s Division board

Jones, Skelton & Hochuli announced that Nicolas Martino and Kimberly Page have been named to the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel Young Lawyer’s Division (AADC YLD) 2019-2020 Board of Directors. Nic will serve as Community Outreach Chair, focusing his efforts on the charity softball tournament, which raises $10k+ annually for the Devereux Foundation. Kimberly will serve as Board Secretary, where she will oversee CLE programming and professional development for YLD members. The AADC YLD Board includes attorneys from throughout Arizona, practicing in every substantive area within the defense bar.

Nic focuses his practice in general civil litigation and insurance defense, primarily in matters involving trucking and transportation, wrongful death, and personal injury. Nic earned his J.D. from ASU’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, and was named a William H. Pedrick Scholar. He also served as an Associate Editor of Jurimetrics: The Journal of Law, Science, and Technology, and worked as a research assistant for ASU’s College of Law and Energy Policy Innovation Council. In 2017, Nic worked as a summer associate at JSH. He earned his B.S. in Environmental and Water Resource Economics from the University of Arizona, and was awarded the prestigious Baird Scholarship. 

Kimberly represents insurers and their insureds in matters involving professional liability, premises liability, dram shop and social host liability, construction defect liability, and community association liability. While pursuing her law degree at Hofstra University’s Maurice A. Deane School of Law, Kimberly volunteered with the Hofstra Law Criminal Justice Clinic, where she represented indigent clients in the Nassau County District Court and Queens County Criminal Court. She was active in Mock Trial Competitions, and earned 2nd Place in the New York ABA Labor and Employment Trial Competition. Kimberly earned her B.F.A. in Dance Performance from Butler University, a nationally recognized dance program focusing on classical ballet.

The Professional Companies announces new CEO
