RED Development
Winner of Best Mixed-Use Project: CityScape
Honorable Mention for Tenant Improvement Project: Polsinell Shughart
Formed in 1995, RED develops, leases, manages and owns shopping centers and mixed-use projects in rapidly growing communities throughout the Southwest and Midwest. It is co-headquartered in Phoenix and Kansas City, Mo., with projects in communities across the U.S.
While its primary focus is on the development of open-air regional shopping centers, better known as lifestyle centers, RED has experience with neighborhood grocery-anchored centers, regional power centers and mall re-development. CityScape in Downtown Phoenix represents one of RED’s major developments, integrating retail, office and hospitality.
RED has differentiated itself from other developers in several ways including priding itself on the relationships it builds with its retail tenants, focusing on the needs of its retail tenants and attracting retailers, restaurants and entertainment destinations that complement the existing base.
Throughout the development process, RED involves the community in its plans. This approach creates a shopping center the community is proud to shop at and one that is aesthetically pleasing. The goal of RED’s design is to make the shopping experience more than buying a product. It’s to enjoy the entire process of shopping from the time a visitor arrives at the site to the time they leave.
