Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts has released its new 2012–13 season guide. The 37-page publication is filled with world-class performances and events, including dance, music, theater, comedy, cinema and more.

Tickets may be purchased online or through the Patron Services Box Office at (480) 499-TKTS (8587). Discounted seating is offered to those purchasing four or more package-priced events in one order.
Among the highlights of the Center’s star-studded season are:
* Spotlight artists Mary Chapin Carpenter, Bill Engvall, Bernadette Peters, Clint Black, Chris Botti and Dionne Warwick.
* Toe-tapping Broadway classics and popular songs by Michael Feinstein, Mandy Patinkin, Barbara Cook, The Doo-Wop Project and Tommy Tune.
* High-flying dance by Garth Fagan Dance Company, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Limón Dance Company, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo.
* Soul-shaking jazz by Eddie Palmieri Salsa Orchestra, Béla Fleck and the Marcus Roberts Trio, Chick Corea and Gary Burton, John Pizzarelli Quartet, and McCoy Tyner Quartet with Joe Lovano.
* Awe-inspiring classical music in conjunction with the 25th anniversary season of the Virginia G. Piper Concert Series featuring recitals by pianists Murray Perahia, Jeffrey Kahane and Olga Kern, and concerts by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Zukerman ChamberPlayers; as well as Academy of St Martin in the Fields; Keyboard Conversations with Jeffrey Siegel; and Close Encounters with Music.
* Trail-blazing world music by Jogja Hip-Hop Foundation, Paco Peña, Danú, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Jesse Cook.
* Globe-trekking Discovery Series exploring the exhilarating arts of India with performances by Red Baraat, Nrityagram Dance Ensemble and Chitresh Das Dance Company.
* Story-telling women on stage, including Luciann Lajoie in Date: Interviews with Real People About Internet Dating, Patti Hannon in the Late Nite Catechism comedies, Rita Rudner, Sandra Bernhard and the return of the Off-Broadway hit Love, Loss and What I Wore.
* Eye-opening theater with Ignite Phoenix No. 13, Mermaid Theatre of Novia Scotia’s Treasured Stories of Eric Carle, The Cashore Marionettes’ Simple Gifts, Reduced Shakespeare Company’s The Complete World of Sports (Abridged) and Phantom Limb Company’s 69°S.
* Rib-tickling humor with The Daily Show Live: Indecision Tour 2012, The Capitol Steps, Ira Glass and David Sedaris.
