Our homes are our sanctuaries, and building a custom home lets you create an environment that brings comfort and joy to your daily life. At Cameron Custom, we are fortunate to help clients imagine and build their dream homes, inside and out. And while we pride ourselves on building homes that stand the test of time, there are definitely a few elements that are showing up at the top of many luxury home wish lists in 2025.  Here’s what we’re seeing as top trends in custom luxury homebuilding.

Multigenerational Living

Homeowners are planning for future needs, adding casitas, guest houses, or pre-planned plumbing for future additions. Many are anticipating multi-generational living, either for adult children returning home on a part-time or full-time basis or for aging parents. Anticipating multigenerational living situations before they come about saves time and money and provides flexibility for evolving needs over time.

Luxe Boutique-style Closets

Closets are being transformed into high-end, boutique-style spaces with LED lighting, under-shelf illumination, and custom displays that showcase clothing, handbags, and shoes as statement pieces. Lighting and artwork help create a curated, luxurious experience every time you step inside.

Dirty Kitchens

Not to be confused with a butler’s pantry, dirty kitchens or back kitchens do more than just hide extra dishes and gadgets. Essentially a kitchen behind the kitchen, these private areas let main kitchens serve as the showpiece for entertaining, while hiding all the preparation (and mess!) that goes into entertaining, meal prepping. This trend is especially popular for those who host frequently and want a seamless, clutter-free show kitchen.

Indoor-Outdoor Living

In Arizona, maximizing the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces continues to be a top priority for homeowners who want to maximize enjoyment of their home. Expansive pocket sliders, covered patios, and outdoor kitchens make the home truly open up to embrace the weather and Arizona beauty during the mild seasons. Large windows, clerestory windows, and operable skylights bring in the light and provide venting and heat control, creating bright, airy, comfortable interiors.

Resort-style Spa Retreats

Luxury buyers are elevating their primary suites with heated floors, steam showers, and high-end finishes to create a serene, spa-inspired retreat. His-and-hers water closets are also a popular request, adding both convenience and privacy. Poolside casitas also offer a resort experience to either homeowners or their guests.
