Phoenix-based real estate company Evergreen recently announced the addition of several new restaurant and retail tenants to its Goodyear Centerpointe shopping plaza located at the intersection of McDowell Road and Pebble Creek Parkway in the town of Goodyear.
Signaling an upswing in the Valley’s commercial real estate market, the 30-acre, 325,000-square-foot complex recently signed lease agreements with Conn’s HomePlus™, Goodwill of Central Arizona, TITLE Boxing Club, Ah-So Sushi & Steak, Texas Roadhouse and Native New Yorker. The additions put the property, which first opened in 2008, at 98 percent occupancy.
“Of the 22 tenants currently operating or undergoing construction and renovations at Goodyear Centerpointe, 18 are original occupants,” saidHeather Personne, Evergreen Principal. “These outlets made it through the recession and are once again seeing surges in sales.”
Kicking off activities for the new tenants was the April 2013 opening of the 4,910-square-foot TITLE Boxing Club, a fitness franchise centered on total body boxing and kickboxing workouts. Texas Roadhouse, which is currently in the final stages of construction, in November will open a 7,000-square-foot restaurant and begin serving its famous hand-cut steaks. Also under construction is Conn’s HomePlus. The specialty retailer offering such goods as home appliances, furniture, mattresses and consumer electronics, is renovating more than 44,500 square feet of retail space and is expected to open in December, just in time for holiday shopping.
Goodwill of Central Arizona, one of Arizona’s oldest and largest nonprofit agencies, is slated to open its 30,256-square-foot retail store and career center at Goodyear Centerpointe in early 2014. Ah-So Sushi & Steak and Native New Yorker each are undergoing major renovations and construction with plans to open in fall 2013 and summer 2014, respectively.
Also home to such retail power players as BevMo, Babies “R” Us, Toys “R” Us and Sport Chalet, Goodyear Centerpointe proves to be one of the most sought after shopping and dining destinations in the West Valley of metropolitan Phoenix.
“Continued growth and development of Goodyear Centerpointe is a boon for the West Valley and the companies that choose to do business here,” said Ken Gatt, director of leasing for Evergreen. “Signing lease agreements with six businesses of this caliber proves it’s been a good year for Goodyear!”
